Privacy Policy
What Wayaka stores about you, why it is stored, who else is involved, and how to have it removed. There is no advertising here and nothing is sold.

1. What this covers
This policy explains what Wayaka stores about you, why it is stored, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website and the account behind it.
2. What we collect
Only what the service needs to work. There is no advertising here, and no tracking of you across other websites.
- Account details from Google, which is the only way to sign in here: your email address, your display name and your profile picture. We never receive your password.
- Membership details: your subscription status, its start and renewal dates, and the identifier PayPal assigns to it. We never receive or store your card details, and PayPal handles the payment itself.
- Viewing data: where you got to in each title, which episode you were on, and the titles you saved to My List.
- One playback session: an identifier for the device currently streaming, which is what enforces one stream at a time. It is deleted when the stream ends.
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and a security cookie that protects forms against cross-site requests. Both are set by this site only and are sent only to it.
- Your IP address, used to count requests so one visitor cannot overwhelm the service, and recorded in ordinary server logs. It is not used to identify you or to build a profile.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
- We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and there is no third-party advertising cookie on this site.
- We do not build a profile of you for anyone else, and we do not combine your data with data bought from other companies.
- We hold no postal address or phone number for you, because we never ask for one.
4. Why we store it
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To know whether your membership is active, so playback can be allowed.
- To resume a title where you left it and to show your saved list.
- To enforce the one-stream-at-a-time limit your membership is sold with.
- To keep the service secure and to diagnose faults.
5. Who else is involved
Some things cannot work without another company being involved, and only the minimum reaches them.
- Google tells us who you are when you sign in. Google applies its own privacy policy to that.
- PayPal takes the payment and tells us whether the subscription is active. Your payment details stay with PayPal.
- The streaming services a title comes from serve the video itself. Your Wayaka account is not passed to them.
- Your profile picture is fetched by our server and served from this site, so your browser does not make a request to Google on every page.
- Poster artwork is loaded by your browser directly from the catalogue and provider image services it comes from, so those services see the request. We send them nothing about you beyond what any web request carries.
6. How long we keep it
Account, membership and viewing data is kept while your account exists. The playback session is deleted as soon as the stream ends or its short lease expires. Sign-in cookies expire on their own.
Ask us to delete your account and we remove your account record and everything attached to it -- viewing history, saved list and membership record -- except where we are required to keep a payment record for accounting or legal reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to how it is used. Write to the address below and we will act on it.
You can also cancel your membership at any time from PayPal, which stops any further payment.
8. Security
Data is held on servers we control. The streaming credentials the service itself uses are encrypted before they are stored, sign-in cookies are restricted to this site, and access to the database is limited to the people who run the service.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.
9. Children
This service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. A change that materially affects how your data is used will be announced before it takes effect.
